Work and Purpose
When strangers first meet, chances are that it won’t be long before someone asks: “What do you do?” Senior citizens tweak this question just a bit. “What kind of work DID you do?”
I think we so often default to that question because many of us equate identity and perceived value with what one DOES, especially as it relates to a vocation for which one earns money.
