Listening for the Master’s Voice

In 1898, an English painter named Francis Barraud painted an image of a dog listening intently to a gramophone. Barraud eventually sold the painting, known as “His Master’s Voice”, and the copyright for it, to The Gramophone Company. The image became the successful trademark of RCA Victor products for many years.
