Annual Neighborhood Watch Bar-B-Q held

For the past 16 years Liz Zarek has held her annual Neighborhood Watch Bar-B-Q on the fourth Thursday in August. In 2008 Fullerton’s police department invited members of the community to get to know their neighbors as part of a neighborhood watch initiative. Since then Liz has hosted with the help of her family and close neighbors Ruthie Imus and Virginia Klassen. Only in 2015 was the BBQ postponed after the unexpected passing of Liz’s husband, Paul. This past Thursday’s gathering brought together 51 friends and neighbors. Aside from the hot dogs and pulled pork which were provided by the Zarek family, all other food was brought potluck by those in attendance. It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all.
