Scott Gottsch retires from Loup Power District

COLUMBUS — Scott Gottsch has retired from Loup Power District after 26 years of service.Gottsch joined Loup in 1998 as a Maintenance Man at the Genoa Headworks. In 2000, he was promoted to Carpenter/Utilityman on the Canal Crew based out of the Columbus Service Center.

DAY TO REMEMBER

GENOA — The second Saturday in August the Genoa Indian School Foundation holds its annual recognition and remembrance day. The school was open from 1884 to 1934, so it has been 90 years since its closing. Approximately 100 people attended this year’s celebration.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

The Fullerton Public Library had three kids complete the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Congrats to Tilson Tarnick (left), Autumn Reardon, and Charlotte Bittner. Fullerton schools returned to the classroom this week.

Cruise Night returns on Saturday

FULLERTON — Cruise on down Broadway on Saturday.The Fullerton Betterment Committee is sponsoring a second Cruise Night. Wheels will start rolling on Broadway at 7 p.m.River’s Edge Meat Locker will be serving a pork sandwich meal.

Corey Boryca celebrates 15 years at Cornhusker PPD

Corey Boryca, lead line technician on the Fullerton crew, recently celebrated 15 years of service to Cornhusker Public Power District. Boryca was hired in May 2009 as an apprentice line technician on the Columbus crew. He obtained to the Fullerton Line Crew in 2014.
