Gov. Pillen orders deployment of National Guard to assist in Hurricane Milton response

LINCOLN — In his role as commander-in-chief, Governor Jim Pillen has ordered the deployment of approximately 150 Nebraska National Guard soldiers and airmen to Florida who will assist in emergency response operations from Hurricane Milton. The group left for Florida last week.

Temporary campfire ban in effect at Game and Parks areas

FULLERTON — Scott Russell has resigned his seat on the Fullerton Board of Education.The board accepted his resignation at their meeting on Monday. Russell is currently on the ballot to become a Nance County Supervisor. He is one of three candidates running for three seats on the board.

Police investigating death in car

FULLERTON — Nance County Sheriff’s office and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the death of a man found inside a car south of Fullerton.Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call just after noon on Thursday of a person in a vehicle on Highway 14 at mile marker 97.
