FULLERTON – Are you thinking of starting a fire outside? Slow down Smokey! Fullerton Fire Chief Jeff Horn wants to remind area residents that they need to contact their local fire department before starting an open burn. “We used to be able to do it,” he said. According to State Statute 81520.

LINCOLN — April is Alcohol Awareness Month and the Division of Behavioral Health in Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has an important message about alcohol use. For those struggling with alcohol use and/or any other addiction -- help is available and recovery is possible.

Governor Pillen to Sign LB77 ‘Constitutional Carry’

LINCOLN — Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has signed LB77. Senator Tom Brewer, who introduced the bill, was on hand for the signing on Tuesday.

Flower Belles Meet

Fullerton Flower Belles met April 21 at Southview Estates with Barb Howser as hostess. President Jeanan Glenn presided over the meeting with 11 members present. Stacy Grabowski was a guest. The group discussed the upcoming plant sale on May 5th, and an upcoming tour on May 2nd.

Be prepared for severe weather

Spring is upon us and severe weather can pop up at a moment’s notice. While Nebraska recognized Severe Weather Awareness Week at the end of March, the weather does not usually show up until April. Jenna Clark, Region 44 emergency manager, said that April is when severe weather really can pick up.
