Week number 12 in the Journal Football Contest is in the books and two rivals were the winners, Phil Dean of Superior, who always wanted to beat Ruthie Imus of Fullerton, did just that claiming the top price of $15. Ruthie laid claim in second place for $10.

Merrick County Historical Museum to feature Civil War Veteran

The Merrick County Historical Museum will present a program about Elizabeth O. Gibson, who served the Union as a nurse. Tracey Hefner will present the program by i-mpersonating Elizabeth Gibson and the prominence Nurse Gibson is to Merrick County. The meeting will be Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2:00 p.m.
