Troopers find cocaine in I-80 traffic stop

LEXINGTON — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a Grand Island man after finding over 5 pounds of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.Friday, July 24, at approximately 11:05 a.m., a trooper saw a Mercedes sedan following a semi at an unsafe distance.

Reeg sentenced in DeMuth murder

COLUMBUS — A Columbus man was sentenced to at least 75 years for the fatal shooting of a Fullerton woman.Jack Reeg, 26, of Columbus, was sentenced to 75 to 85 years in prison on Wednesday. He was given 317 days credit for time served.

City: No update on fraud investigation

FULLERTON — One month after announcing they were the victim of $174,086.55 wire fraud scheme, the city of Fullerton has no update on the investigation.

Twin River hires new science teacher

GENOA — There will be a new face teaching science this year at Twin River.The Twin River Board of Education approved the hiring of Tucker Tejkl at their meeting last week. Tejkl told the board that he is going through a divorce and that was the reason he left his last position.
