The Warriors with (32 points) in 4th place and Doniphan-Trumbull with 23 points in 3rd. “The girls have worked hard all season to finish as strong as they did. Their ability to push themselves as well as one another is something we are very proud of!” said Coach Wetovick. “We have two strong senior leaders in Julianna Maxfield and Paige Wood who model every day what it takes to run with heart and tenacity. Their leadership will be greatly missed, but I have no doubt that our younger runners will step up and lead by example,” Wetovick goes on to say.
Our two varsity boy runners ran strong with junior, Justin Horn finishing in 5th place claiming his ticket to the state meet. He ran his personal record time of the season time with a 17:59. Sophomore, Ethan Hoback placed 23rd out of 69 runners with a time of 19:55. “It was awesome to add another runner to our boys team this year. Justin ran alone for the varsity boys last year, so with the addition of Ethan came a sense of teamwork and support. The boys pushed and encouraged each other all season long,” Coach Wetovick stated.
