The Fullerton 4th Garde began league play on Saturday, Jan. 10th at Centura with two games. Fullerton started off with the hometown Centura Centurions. The young Warriors jumped all over Centura from the opening tip. Cal Hamik racked up several assists, as he orchestrated a fine-tuned offense. Kian Pickrel was the beneficiary of several precise passes. Kian also was dominant on the offensive boards, as he led Fullerton with 18 points. The young Warriors would go on to beat Centura 31-8. Wyatt Sonderup added 5 points with a good jump shot game. Connor Robb and Hamik finished off the scoring with 4 points apiece.
In the second game of the day, the young Warriors played the St. Paul B team. Cal Hamik had a solid all-around floor game for Fullerton. Along with Wyatt Sonderup, Hamik led the Fullerton squad with 8 points apiece. Several of their made shots were deep jumpers. Kian Pickrel and Sawyer Russell finished the scoring off at two points apiece, as Fullerton beat the young Wildcats 20-2. Fullerton’s sold defense was led by Turner Tarnick, who did not allow the St. Paul point guard to get into the lane. Russell also had several tie-ups and steals to help pace the defense. Connor Robb, Pickrel, and Tarnick controlled the boards all game long.
Fullerton’s 4th Grade is now 4-1 on the season.
