Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recognizes January as National Birth Defects Awareness Month. It raises awareness about birth defects and highlights the efforts made to improve the health of individuals affected by these conditions across their lifespans.

I learned early on as a parent that our kids listen to us. They know what we tell them to do. Sadly, I didn’t learn this because they are always good at doing what they’re told. No, I know they listen because they can tell me when their brother or sister isn’t doing what they’re told.

Letter to the Editor

I just want to say that I really enjoyed ready Shelby's article on the Beed's Hockey Rink ! I have driven by it at times when it was lit up at night and just would stop and watch them kids enjoying themselves. Great job Shelby and please keep writing these great Hometown attraction articles !
