BELGRADE Belgrade Volunteer Fire Dept. will have several firemen at the station handing out Fire safety bags with treats, on Halloween. The Belgrade Methodist Church will be serving pizza to Trick-or-Treaters beginning at 5 p.m. on Halloween at the old firehall.

LINCOLN — Nebraska’s volunteer fire departments face serious problems recruiting volunteers which they fear will decrease the quality of service provided to their communities, according to a new survey conducted by Nebraska Public Media News.

Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced the appointment of Dr. Alyssa Bish as the Director of Children and Family Services for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS). Dr. Bish will start on Dec. 28.

Woodwind Chamber Ensembles concert Nov. 9 at Wayne State

WAYNE — The Wayne State College Woodwind Chamber Ensembles will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, in Ley Theatre, located on the second floor of the Brandenburg Building. The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will also be livestreamed.
