Loup board OKs retail rate change for 2024

COLUMBUS. —The Loup Power District Board of Directors approved a 3.5 percent retail rate increase at its monthly December meeting. The increase comes amid increasing material prices and supply chain issues.

Fullerton has long history of blood donations

FULLERTON — On Tuesday, Dec. 12, volunteers from all around Fullerton and Nance County drove to the Nance County Events Center to donate their blood. Fullerton has a rich history of generous bloodmobile donations. The first bloodmobile came to Fullerton on Nov. 29, 1950.

CCC honors graduates

GRAND ISLAND — Central Community College honored 372 graduate candidates during its 2023 winter commencement on Dec. 15, at CCC-Columbus.

QUEEN CROWNED

On Saturday, Dec. 2, Addi Crouse of Fullerton competed in the Nebraska Angus Royalty Contest and was crowned the Nebraska Angus Queen. She and her family traveled to Kearney to compete in the yearly competition.

These junior Angus members won top honors in their respective showmanship divisions at the 2023 Nebraska Junior Angus Association Winter Show, Dec. 3 in Kearney, Neb.

Crouse wins reserve grand champion

BCC Miranda 32K won reserve grand champion owned female at the 2023 Nebraska Junior Angus Association Winter Show, Dec. 3 in Kearney, Neb. Addison Crouse, Belgrade, owns the February 2022 daughter of Bar-E-L Natural Law 52Y. Brady Jensen, Louisburg, Kan., evaluated the 54 entries.
