Runners enter final stretch of season

BATTLE CREEK — Mile by mile, area runners are getting closer to next week’s district races.Fullerton and Twin River’s journey to the district race had a stop at Evergreen Hill Golf Course on Friday for the Battle Creek Invite.Fullerton’s girls finished fifth overall.

Golfers complete final stop before district

CAIRO — Fullerton’s final stop before Tuesday’s district meet was the Centura Invite at Centura Hills Golf Course on Thursday.Keila Dubas finished 20th overall with a 115. Lylla Sabata finished 44th with a 147.Heartland’s Mia Hiebner finished with a low score of 82.

Warrior defense leads to win

FULLERTON — The old saying goes, defense wins championships.That may or may not be true, but Fullerton’s defense did win Friday’s game against Nebraska Christian. The Warriors improved to 5-1 thanks to a 36-27 win over the Eagles (1-5).

Warrior hits keep coming

FULLERTON — The hits just kept coming.Fullerton improved to 10-8 on the year with a three-set sweep of McCool Junction on Thursday. The Warriors defeated the Mustangs 25-6, 25-14, 25-11.“That was big,” Fullerton senior Jaci Maxfield said. “We need to keep doing that.

Warriors hitting their stride

ORD — Fullerton’s runners are just hitting their stride.The Warriors traveled to Ord on Friday for the Ord Invite. The girls team finished 3rd, while the boys team finished 5th.Morgan Supik finished 4th over all with a time of 22:12.

No. 5 Jaguars hand Warriors first loss

FULLERTON — Few teams complete a season without a blemish on their record.The Warriors were handed their first loss of the season, falling in a battle of unbeaten teams. No. 5 Howells-Dodge defeated Fullerton 46-8.The Warriors were limited to 97 yards of total offense.

Warriors play well, settle for split

BARTLETT — The Warriors played well but had to settle for a split last week in a triangular with Chambers / Wheeler Central and Class D-2 No. 8 Stuart.Fullerton defeated Chambers / Wheeler Central 25-18, 25-13.Laine Ziemba led the way with 7 kills, 4 digs, 3 assists, 2 aces and 1 block.

Dubas finishes 6th at Fullerton Invite

FULLERTON — Fullerton played host to nine other teams last week for the Fullerton Invite at Pawnee Hills.Keila Dubas finished 6th overall with a 92. Sutton’s Avery Robinson won the event with a low score of 84.The Warriors have a dual on Wednesday against Central City at Pawnee Hill.
