Warriors upset Eagles

OVERTON — The Warriors are heading back to Lincoln for the second straight year.Fullerton pulled off the 64-45 upset on Saturday over Overton in the D1-7 District Final to punch their tickets to State.

BACK TO BACK

The Warriors are heading back to State. Fullerton pulled off the upset on Saturday, defeating Overton 64-45 to win the D1-7 District Final and punch their ticket for Lincoln next week. Front row: Levi Glup, Jaxson Gustafson, Terrick Gonsior, Cayden Scheffler, Callen Hamik.

Warriors advance to District Final

FULLERTON — One more win. The Warriors need one more win to punch their tickets to Lincoln.Fullerton (20-5) held up on for 39-36 win over Riverside in the D1-6 Sub-District on Thursday. The win propels the Warriors to the D1-7 District Final on Saturday against Overton.

Historic Performance

OMAHA — Twin River made history over the weekend.Twin River junior Zach Held came into the Class D State Wrestling Tournament as the No. 2 seed at 126 pounds.In 33 matches the junior had lost only one match.On Saturday Held capped his year with a state title win over No.

Warriors’ season ends at sub-district

GREELEY— The Warriors ran into a brick wall last week.Fullerton saw its season come to an end in the D1-7 Sub-District semifinal game against No. 7 Central Valley, falling 58-26.The Warriors kept the game close early — tying the game at 5-all with 2:40 remaining in the opening quarter.

SHELBY — A handful of Nance County wrestlers have punched their tickets for State.Twin River saw Cade Kunkel, Zach Held, Braxtin Fowler and Chance Swantek, along with Fullerton’s Tate Wood, qualify for State. Kunkel, Held and Fowler were all district champions. Wood was district runner-up.
