Warriors, Titans ready for district

GRAND ISLAND — Fullerton and Twin River wrestlers had one final tune-up ahead of this week’s district meet. The Warriors finished 7th and the Titans finished 8th at the Crusader Invite at Grand Island Central Catholic. Fullerton finished with 74.0 points, while Twin River had 72.0 points.

Warriors top Bulldogs on home court

FULLERTON — Fullerton picked up a home win on Pleasanton on Friday, edging the Bulldogs 48-38. Nolan Dubas led the scoring attack for the Warriors, finishing with 12 points, while grabbing 6 rebounds. Kane Wetovick added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Thomas finishes 3rd at two invites

Fullerton’s Riley Thomas finished third at two invites last week. On Friday Fullerton was at the Plainview Invite and on Saturday they were at the Dale Bonge Invite at Boone Central. Plainview Invite 135-pounds Quarterfinals: Riley Thomas (Fullerton) pinned Cici Stashkiw-Risor (Wayne) in 1:49.

Warriors compete in two invites

Fullerton had a busy couple of days last week.  On Friday the Warriors were at the Central Valley Invite and on Saturday they were at the Dale Bonge Invite at Boone Central. Brett Bridger went 3-0 at Central Valley to take first place on Friday.

Schools short on wrestling tickets

Posts on social media have been flying around that some schools are not receiving all the tickets for state wrestling that they requested. This is probably true, but according to NSAA, it’s just a few of the schools. The NSAA assistant director Ron Higdon released a video explaining this.

Warriors fall to Eagles in 3OT thriller

NORFOLK — There was a lot of free basketball on Thursday in Norfolk. Four quarters were not enough to decide a winner between Fullerton and Lutheran-Northeast. The Warriors battled for three overtimes before Eagles were able to get the 59-50 win.

Warriors return to mats after snow break

NELIGH — The Warrior wrestlers returned to action on Saturday after losing nearly two weeks because of winter snow and cancellations. Fullerton finished fifth overall out of 24 teams at the Neligh-Oakdale Invite with 100 team points. Elkhorn Valley won the team title with 174 points.

Warriors go 1-2 to finish 4th at Goldenrod

GREELEY — The Warrior boys finished fourth in the Goldenrod Conference Tournament last week. Fullerton opened the tournament on Wednesday in Humphrey at St. Francis with a 64-43 win over St. Edward. Kane Wetovick led the way with a game-high 25 points. Terrick Gonsior added 10 points.
