Warriors ready to make D-1 volleyball noise

FULLERTON — A new coach. A new class of competition. And four new starters. But don’t expect this season to be a down year for the Warriors. Fullerton opens the volleyball season on Thursday when they welcome Cross County and Sutton to town for a triangular.

Sports now streaming on Hudl

Fullerton and Twin River sports have a new streaming home. Both schools will be streaming all home sporting events on Hudl. Sports fans will still be able to watch home games from their couch, they just have to go to a new web address. A link is available on both school websites.

Warriors finish third at Central City 3-man Scramble

CENTRAL CITY – Fullerton opened the golf season on Thursday competing in the Central City 3-Man Scramble. The Warriors group of Melinda Pickrel, Tierney Russell and Kelia Dubas finished third in division 1 with a 74. Heartland won the event with a pair of golfers who shot a 63 for the day.

District assignments announced

The Nebraska School Activities Association has started to announce fall district assignments. Fullerton and Twin River athletes now know what schools they will have to compete against for an opportunity to go to state. Girls Golf Fullerton has been assigned to the C-2 district.

Warriors look to make it back to State

FULLERTON — You don’t just show up at a race and expect to compete. You put in the work. And the training is not something that begins at the beginning of the season. Fullerton has high expectations for the cross country season, returning two state-qualifying runners from last year’s squad.

FULLERTON — The Warriors will return an experienced lineup when they open the golf season on Thursday. Fullerton coach Shawn Ostransky returns four golfers with experience at the state meet.

Monday marked the first official day of practice for high school teams across the state. Fullerton and Twin River teams are busy preparing for their first contest later this month.

Titans, Warriors honored for academics

LINCOLN — The 2022 Fullerton and Twin River football teams were selected as recipients of the National Football Foundation’s Academic Excellence Award.

Fullerton increases sports admission

FULLERTON — It will cost a little more to attend Warrior home games in the fall. The Fullerton Public Schools Board of Education voted Monday night to increase admission cost to attend sporting events. The new cost is $6 for adults and $5 for students.
