FULLERTON — In 1953 Ruth and Gene became engaged and began planning their wedding. Eugene wanted people at their wedding and the two came up with the idea to be married during their regular church services.

End of an era: Koala-T begins final year

FULLERTON — For 32 years Elaine Sims has been a fixture of Fullerton’s preschools. She has run Koala-T preschool for more than two decades and before that, she worked with Head Start. This year will be her final year of teaching and running Koala-T.

ROYAL HOPEFULS

FULLERTON — The Warriors are ready for Homecoming. The Red Wagon Parade and Pep Rally down Main Street will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8. Fullerton will take on Twin River at 7 p.m. on Friday for the Homecoming Game.  The festivities will begin around 3 p.m.

Head Start begins new school year

FULLERTON — Fullerton’s Head Start Preschool started the 2022-2023 school year on August 16th. A combination of Fullerton and Genoa children make up the nineteen students that are enrolled this year.

CPPD customers give $3,450 in grants

Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $3,450 to 16 organizations at the August14 meeting. “These organizations are doing great things in the community, and we are very proud to be a part of it," Cornhusker Public Power District CEO/GM Clay Gibbs said.

Sixth graders enjoy day at the state fair

On Friday August 25th, the sixth-grade class of Fullerton Public Schools traveled to Grand Island to attend the Nebraska State Fair. The class spent a busy day moving from exhibit to exhibit.

FULLERTON — Any person who has lived close to a century will have stories to tell. Thankfully Ruth Myers was willing to sit down with the Nance County Journal and share some of hers. So many in fact, that her story has been split into two articles to be printed over this and the following issue.

Camp is a place of faith, fun & family

FULLERTON — In May of 1971 a group of Baptist Churches in Nebraska wanted to own and operate their own camp. They purchased several acres of land north east of Fullerton and started Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp. In the beginning it was mostly tent camping.
