Williams is ‘Sew’ talented

FULLERTON — Josie Williams has been sewing since she was around seven years old. A senior at Fullerton High School, Josie has been a regular fixture at the Nance County and Nebraska State Fair showcasing her sewing entries.

Ethan Ciancio, Emma Bond voted UNK homecoming royalty

KEARNEY — Ethan Ciancio of Fullerton and Emma Bond of Kearney are the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s homecoming king and queen. They were crowned Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Health and Sports Center on campus. UNK’s homecoming royalty are selected by two rounds of student voting.

Fullerton Quiz Bowl competes at Seward

Fullerton traveled to Seward on Wednesday for the NELAC Literature Quiz Bowl last week. The team Quiz Bowl went 1 and 2 during pool play and eventually lost in the first round of the tournament. The team consists of Paige Horn, Delilah Davis, McKenna Plumbtree, Isabel Norman and Aiden Norman.

Life Chain Sunday is Oct. 1

Sunday, October 1 is designated as Life Chain Sunday across the nation. Columbus area churches will come together with other Nebraska communities and over 1,000 communities in the United States and Canada to pray together for the end of abortion and for the victims of abortion.

Prososki marks 30 years at Loup

COLUMBUS — Headworks Supervisor Randy Prososki was recently recognized for 30 years of service to Loup Power District. Prososki joined Loup in 1993 as a Maintenance Technician at the Headworks. He was promoted to Dredge Operator in 1997 and transferred to Heavy Equipment Operator in 2018.

FULLERTON — The Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War is halfway through the Last Soldier Project. Beginning in 2003, the project began the process of going around to all 93 Nebraska counties and marking the graves of the last buried Union Civil War veteran in each county.
Jordan Classen and her husband, Travis, branched out from Travis’ family operation in 2016 when they started raising cattle in Fullerton. After getting their feet under them, Jordan began focusing on processing, marketing, and selling their beef. In 2022, she established Classen Land & Cattle, LLC and got to work. She began small but used her talent for marketing and business to create a strategy and development plan. Photo provided
