Twin River to sell Silver Creek building

GENOA — The Twin River Board of Education is looking to sell the former Silver Creek school building.The board unanimously approved moving forward to sell the building. Superintendent Brandi Bartels said this was just the first step in the process.

Twin River hires new science teacher

GENOA — There will be a new face teaching science this year at Twin River.The Twin River Board of Education approved the hiring of Tucker Tejkl at their meeting last week. Tejkl told the board that he is going through a divorce and that was the reason he left his last position.

FULLERTON — The Nance County Journal staff had the opportunity to talk to Congressman Adrian Smith (NE-03) last week while he was traveling around the district.In addition to talking with NCJ co-owner Rick Holtz, Smith met with economic development officials in the county.

Nance County Fair is in full swing

FULLERTON — The Nance County Fair is in full swing and there are plenty of things to do at the fairgrounds over the next couple of days.The fair kicked off with Boone-Nance Horse Show on Saturday in Albion. On Sunday, 4-H’ers worked to clean-up and complete final set up for the fair.

Tourism committee to meet

FULLERTON — Members of the Nance County Tourism Committee will meet on Monday.The public meeting will take place at 1 p.m. at Broken Arrow Wilderness, located at 1025 P322 Rd., just north of Fullerton.

Twin River demolition begins early

GENOA — Phase 2 of the Twin River construction project kicked off on Monday with the beginning of the demolition of the 1929 building.The district announced the building was coming down a week earlier than originally anticipated. It was previously announced the building would come down next week.
