On July 19, 2024, the Flower Belles met for their monthly meeting at the cabin of Karen Delaney.The meeting was called to order by Karon Horn. Ten members were present.The booth for the fair was put together by Jeanan Glen, Karen Delaney, Karon Horn, Joyce Newquist, and Barb Howser.

UNMC announces spring 2024 dean’s list

The University of Nebraska Medical Center has announced its spring 2024 dean’s list for students enrolled in nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and the allied health professions of medical imaging and therapeutic sciences program and medical laboratory science.

Lower Loup NRD announces photo winners

Winning photographs have been chosen in the Lower Loup NRD’s 2024 Photo Contest. In the competition that ran from November 2023 through May 15, 2024, thirty-five photographers from the Lower Loup NRD and across Nebraska submitted 330 images.

Our language is ever changing. New words are coined. Old words are given new meanings. A few years ago, the phrase “social distancing” was invented. To me, that phrase is a prime example of an oxymoron—a phrase in which two words of opposite meanings are paired.
