A son, Bowen Dean Bertram, was born at 10:47 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at Boone County Health Center to Brittany and Nicholas Bertram of Fullerton. At birth he weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is joined at home by Reid and Brecken Bertram.

Aphids feeding on variety of plants

Aphids are small insects who feed on plant sap from leaf undersides. They are about oneeighth inch long, pear-shaped, soft bodied, and green, yellow, orange or gray. Although a common insect, there has been an increase in aphid calls this year, especially on cucumbers.

Ten years ago August 13, 2014Pawnee Hills held their annual member/guest tournament.The Nance County Sheriff’s Office received a $4,500 grant to help purchase a police dog. The hope was that the dog could help officers in their fight against drugs and locate missing persons.

Ten years ago August 6, 2014Alex Whited was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.Several thousand people from around the country attended the 11th annual Thunder on the Loup airboat races north of Palmer.Two new flag poles were donated to the Veteran’s Museum in Fullerton.

Nine students graduate from radiologic technology school

HASTINGS — Nine students graduated from the Mary Lanning Healthcare School of Radiologic Technology on July 13 with Associate of Applied Science degrees.Graduation took place at French Memorial Chapel on the Hasting College campus.
