As we approach the end of our 22nd season, I would like to thank our audience for trusting us to bring them health information that is current and accurate.

Blood drive a success

Red Cross Bloodmobile was held April 9th at the Events Center. Donors gave a total of 53 units. Ryan Czarnick was a first time donor. Those giving double units were: Craig Christensen, Zach Bialas, Jack Nelson, Dan Steinbach, Mike Liesch, Lisa Lassek, and Jen Dubas. We had several walk-ins as well.

Club News

The Piecin’ Pals Quilt Guild met April 3, 2024 at the Community Center in Cedar Rapids. Fourteen members told of their favorite song. Some were couples songs and others were Oldies, Religious and from rock to county.The Treasurer’s report given by Rita Smiley was $1574.53 with 16 paid members.

Newspaper Columnists’ Day

National Newspaper Columnists’ Day was created to honor the late columnist Ernie Pyle. Pyle was a Pulitzer Prizewinning journalist and war correspondent during World War II, and was best known for his stories about American soldiers.

Reflecting on progress

It’s human nature to tell stories about the past, and doctors aren’t immune to that impulse. The second year medical students rotating through my clinic have me reflecting on my own years as a fledgling physician, and the changes I’ve seen in my decades of practice.

Grace Notes
