Hopes for a ‘normal’ legislative session have diminished

Comments from two state senators from Omaha have pretty much diminished hopes for a “normal” session of the Nebraska Legislature this year. “I think it will be a difficult session again. I’m not backing down,” said Sen.

Revitalize Rural Nebraska Grant Program application period opens Jan. 15, 2024

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) will begin accepting applications for the Revitalize Rural Nebraska Grant Program on Jan. 15, with the application period closing Feb. 29.

Snow—It’s an inevitable part of winter, occurring not only in Minne-SNOW-ta, but in many other areas of our country as well. As I write this (on a Sunday night), southeast Nebraska and the surrounding areas are gearing up for a significant amount of snow and wind.

Dallas Brass coming Jan. 19

Merrick Arts Council is very excited to bring the internationally acclaimed Dallas Brass to Central City on Friday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. The theme of the program, American Musical Journey, will sample American music history from the time of George Washington to the present day.
