Fullerton library buys books with grant

FULLERTON — The Fullerton Public Library was recently awarded the Children’s Book Project grant from the Pilcrow Foundation.

Founded in 2013, the Pilcrow Foundation’s mission is to provide new, quality, hardcover children’s books to rural public libraries across the United States. Over a hundred children’s books with a value of nearly $2,000 were added to the library’s collection.

The grant’s donation requirement was met thanks to contributions from Friends of the Fullerton Public Library. Additional sponsors include Drs. Bill Strawbridge & Meg Wallhagen and Mr. Hal Berenson & Mrs. LauraAckerman.

The books received cover a wide range of topics, from animals to careers to science books and more. They also feature a wide difficulty range, with some books being for ages birth to 7 and others for ages 7 to 12.
