TeamMates planning Chili Cook-Off

Dec. 5 fund-raiser event to support scholarship program

FULLERTON — Do you think you have the best chili in Fullerton? Put your recipe to the test.

Fullerton TeamMates have announced they are holding the inaugural Chili Cook-Off on Friday, Dec. 5. The fundraiser will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Club. The event is happening in conjunction with Fullerton’s Old-Fashion Days.

Teams of chili chefs will compete for the Chili Crown. A group of celebrity judges will select their favorite chili. A People’s Choice Award will also be awarded to the crowd’s most popular chili.

Chili teams can reserve their spot by contacting Melissa Aaberg at Fullerton Schools or Rick Holtz at the Nance County Journal. Teams will be charged a $25 entry fee, but they will receive 5 complimentary tickets to the fund-raiser to give to friends and family.

In addition to a Chili Cook-Off, TeamMates will have a raffle auction at the event. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Winners will be drawn later in the evening.

Tickets for the event will go on sale next week and can be purchased at the Nance County Journal for $5. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for 3 tickets for $5. All proceeds from the event will go to Fullerton TeamMates for their scholarship program.
