Veterans plan July 4 celebration

FULLERTON — America’s 250th Birthday Celebration will take place on July 4 on the Nance County Veteran’s Memorial grounds in Fullerton.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with registration for the 4th annual Tom Delaney Memorial Car “Show and Shine.” Everyone is welcome to come and share your rides. Admission is free. The show is open to the public until 2 p.m.

At 10:30 a.m., the directors of the Veterans Memorial and Museum will host a short program at the north side of the Memorial Wall. Pat Wagner of McCool Junction will be the guest speaker. Be sure to bring a lawn chair.

Immediately following the program, there will be a community lunch in the Veteran’s Museum for $10 per plate. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu features pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, chips, cookie cake, ice cream and a beverage. The meat will be prepared by Easy Bake BBQ (Dayzie Kay Olson). The cookie cakes will be baked by Special E’s Treats (Ella Pickrel). To go boxes will be available. All proceeds go toward the Veteran’s Museum and Grounds improvement.

Also available for sale during the day will be snow cones (Olson family) and popcorn (Zarek family).
