COLUMBUS — For families who have experienced the heartbreak of pregnancy loss, remembrance can be an important step in the healing process. The Columbus Community Hospital Foundation invites community members to honor and remember those lives through the Precious H.E.A.R.T.S. Interfaith Memorial Service.
The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Roselawn Cemetery, near the Precious H.E.A.R.T.S. memorial stone. The cemetery is located on the east side of Columbus on 23rd Street, directly west of Maximus Restaurant. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs for the outdoor service.
The Precious H.E.A.R.T.S. (Healing, Embracing, and Remembering Through Sharing) program was established by the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation and Auxiliary. The memorial service continues to be supported by Columbus Community Hospital and the foundation, with a shared mission to provide comfort and connection for families during difficult times.
This nondenominational, bilingual service will be conducted by a member of the Columbus clergy. It offers an opportunity for parents, extended family and friends to gather in a peaceful, compassionate setting. The service will last approximately one hour and will include messages of hope, spiritual reflection and moments of remembrance.
The Precious H.E.A.R.T.S. program was created to recognize the unique grief associated with pregnancy loss, whether recent or long past. It offers families a space not only to grieve, but also to celebrate the lives that briefly touched their own.
In the event of inclement weather, updates will be available on Columbus Community Hospital’s Facebook page, at columbushosp.org, or by calling the maternal child health department at 402-562-3266.
