Platte County announces fair foundation, ag society partnership

The Platte County Ag Society and the newly established Platte County Fair Foundation are thrilled to announce their partnership to revitalize and enhance the Platte County Fairgrounds in Columbus, Nebraska.

In May 2024, the Platte County Ag Society transferred the Ag Park real estate to the Platte County Fair Foundation. As the new owner, the Foundation has leased the land back to the Ag Society to continue hosting the Platte County Fair at its current location.

The Platte County Fair Foundation’s mission is to build a cutting-edge exhibition and show facility, elevating the county fair experience for every 4H and FFA member. The Foundation aims to create the premier fairgrounds in the state, featuring four-season show barns and a spacious event center. This center will not only display static exhibits but also host weddings, and large events, and serve as a premier destination for the City of Columbus and all of Platte County.

The Platte County Fair Foundation board consists of local leaders and current Ag Society members all focused on exploring the best options for Platte County community members and youth. No decisions as to where new fair facilities will be located have been made at this time.
