Creating a safer community: The Green Dot strategy

A recent Green Dot training in Nebraska brought together 56 participants from various organizations. Since completing the program, these participants have introduced the Green Dot initiative to hundreds of individuals across the state, significantly expanding its reach and impact.

Small scenes, big dreams

FULLERTON — The scenes may be small, but one Fullerton resident is dreaming big.Allen Zimmerman recently launched a new business — Allen’s N Scale World. He creates scenes that can be used with model railroads or just encapsulated by itself in a container.“Most people call them dioramas,” he said.

FULLERTON — The winners of the Fullerton Christmas Lights contest have been announced. First prize goes to Kyle and Jill Russell, 1010 Division St. Second prize goes to Jeremy and Megan Welch, 718 Division St. Third prize goes to Eric & Marissa Burenheide, 626 N. Division St.

Pelan announced as new manager of Premier Physical Therapy

COLUMBUS — Columbus Community Hospital is pleased to announce that Jay Pelan, PT, DPT, CSCS, Cert. MDT, will be the new manager of CCH’s Premier Physical Therapy in 2025.Pelan joined the hospital in 2004 as a physical therapist for Rehab Services at the Wellness Center.

New year brings new schedule to local library

Happy New Year! With the new year comes a new schedule of programs at the library. Here are a few of the events to put on your January calendar: Preschool Storytime resumes on Monday, January 6 at 10:30 am and continues every Monday morning thru May.

Living the Dog Life

Zina’s days of chasing bad guys are numbered.Nance County’s K-9 officer, Zina, has been a member of the Nance County Sheriff’s office for more than a decade. She is retiring at the end of December.
