Moles are found in home landscape settings. They are mostly a nuisance but might cause some damage when tunneling around plants. They do not feed on plants.Moles are 4 to 6 inches long with grey or brown fur. There front feet are wide, turn outward, and have webbed toes.

Sheriff: Watch for bald eagle

FULLERTON — The Nance County Sheriff’s Office has responded to two bald eagles hit by vehicles in Nance County in the last week.One eagle was hit on Highway 14 south of the overflow bridge. When deputies arrived the eagle was alive and alert.

Work will begin on N-39, south of Genoa

GRAND ISLAND — Weather permitting, work will begin Oct. 9 on N-39, from reference post 18.15 to reference post 18.40, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.JMN Construction, LLC of Valley is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge expansion joint repair.

Sunday school class donates to K9

FULLERTON — The children of the Fullerton Community Church Sunday School were pleased to present Deputy Lathan Woollen of the Nance County Sheriffs Office on behalf of Zina the drug dog with $150.The children enjoyed their fall mission project as they made and sold Puppy Chow.

Nance County gets storm aid

LINCOLN — Governor Jim Pillen is announcing the receipt of federal funds to aid in the recovery from storms that impacted multiple Nebraska counties June 20 – July 8. This is the fourth time federal funds have been awarded to the state due to severe weather this year.

City of Fullerton recognizes two employees

Two city employees, Rick Mangus and Mitch Lane are celebrating 25 years of employment with the City of Fullerton. Mitch started with the City of Fullerton on June 27th of 1999 and Rick started September 1st of that same year.
