Sundogs appear when sunlight passes through a thin veil of ice crystal clouds (usually cirrus or cirrostratus), and the ice acts as a prism, refracting the light. The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce recently elected officers for 2024. Those officers are: Suzanne Schweitz, President; Dustin Schock, Vice-President; Fran Cupples, Secretary; Tracy Kramer, Treasurer. Chamber meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club.

Shoot free throws Sunday

FULLERTON — The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship has been moved to Sunday, Jan. 21. The event will be in Fullerton at the high school starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. There is also a free throw competition in Genoa at Twin River High School beginning at 1 p.m.

LYONS — The Center for Rural Affairs applauds the Nebraska Department of Agriculture’s (NDA) continued efforts to support the state’s small- and medium-sized meat processors with its announcement of a second round of grant funding through the Independent Processor Assistance Program (IPAP).
