GENOA— Twin River schools are going back to the voters. The school district has scheduled two public meetings for later this month to get information from the public on what they would like to see in a proposal for a new school building. The meetings are Jan. 22 and 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Staff at the Lower Loup Natural Resources District (LLNRD) have been working in the field collecting soil samples to a depth of 30 feet. This is a part of a project that began back in April 2023 in response to the continuing trend of increasing groundwater nitrate levels in parts of the District.

County meeting postponed

Notice: Due to Inclement Weather: The Nance County Board of Supervisor’s Meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 9 a.m., will be moved to Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 9 a.m. at the Nance County Courthouse in the Board Room.

Looking back at 2023

A new year is upon us, so the NCJ staff wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the stories that made the news in 2023: JANUARY Frontier Cooperative has donated $2,500 toward the city park equipment campaign. Their generous donation will be displayed on the donor wall at completion.
