YORK — Central Valley Ag (CVA) is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. The program will award 20 $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing higher education in an agriculturally related field.

GENOA — For more than a decade Mary McQuinn has sponsored a community Thanksgiving meal in Genoa.
The meal goes from noon to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Genoa Senior Center. Meals can be taken to-go or even be delivered in Genoa.

In 1918, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, World War 1 officially ended. This day became known as Armistice Day.
The idealistic hope was that World War 1 was the “War to end all wars” and if that had been true, November 11th may still be known as Armistice Day.

CRETE — Five Fullerton Public School students were selected to participate in Doane University’s honor band.
Freshman Lylla Sabata and juniors Morgan Supik, Makayla Robinson, Keila Dubas and Jaci Maxfield were all selected to perform in Doane University’s Fall Festival of Winds this past Saturday.
