COLUMBUS — Columbus Community Hospital wants to give everyone a chance to find out if a career in health care is for them. Students, current health care professionals and adults who want to make a career change can find the right fit at the CCH Opportunity Fair.

Cornhusker PPD seeks high school applicants for July leadership camp

Cornhusker Public Power District is seeking applications from 9, 10 and 11 grade students to attend the Youth Energy Leadership Camp. Cornhusker Public Power District will sponsor six students to attend the all-expense paid camp, including transportation to and from camp.

2024 Chamber officers named

The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce recently elected officers for 2024. Those officers are: Suzanne Schweitz, President; Dustin Schock, Vice-President; Fran Cupples, Secretary; Tracy Kramer, Treasurer. Chamber meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club.

Red Cross Bloodmobile exceeds goal in Cedar Rapids at collection this month

The Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Cedar Rapids, Friday, February 9. The goal was 36 units and the total donations were 46 units. The number of productive procedures was eight, and the number of productive products was 16. Whole blood units were thirty.

GENOA — Officers responded to an incident Twin River Schools on Friday morning. The Nance County Sheriff’s Department released a statement on Friday that deputies responded to an incident between a high school student and a parent.

FULLERTON — Cael Dubas outlasted 12 other seventh and eighth grade students last Wednesday to win the Nance County Spelling Bee. “It is a good honor,” he said. “I got third last year. I was looking for improvement this year. I improved, so I am happy with it.

Primary election begins to take shape

This is just over a week remaining for incumbents to file for re-election. Incumbents have until Feb. 15 to turn in their paperwork to appear on the May 14 Primary Election. Non-incumbent candidates have until March 1 to file their paperwork.
