Big Iron and Urkoski Orchestra team up to entertain Husker fans before Nebraska game

During the recent Nebraska-Illinois game in Lincoln, the Urkoski Orchestra, based out of Silver Creek where trumpeter Gene Urkoski lives, entertained tail-gaters with their beautiful Polish polka music at the Big Iron tailgate site.

Tara Urkoski, Tom DeLancey are winners in Journal Football Contest

Tara Urkoski of Silver Creek came out on top of the three people who had 13 picks correct in last week’s football contest. She will receive $15. Tom DeLancey of Fullerton took second place for $10. The third member of this group was Tim Wagner of Omaha.

Sparrow Publications Purchase the Nance County Journal

After negotiations and everything falling into place, the Nance County Journal is changing owners. Bill and Jan Thompson are seeking to slow down, so they have sold the paper to Sparrow Publications, LLC. Bill and Jan have been in the publishing business for many years.
