Merrick County Historical Museum to feature Civil War Veteran

The Merrick County Historical Museum will present a program about Elizabeth O. Gibson, who served the Union as a nurse. Tracey Hefner will present the program by i-mpersonating Elizabeth Gibson and the prominence Nurse Gibson is to Merrick County. The meeting will be Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2:00 p.m.

Thies’ passion for music earns highest score at State festival

Aubrey Thies has always had a passion for music and started her musical career about three years ago with pianist/vocalist, Alyssa Jacobs (Wetovick). Due to Covid-19, this was the first year Aubrey was able to participate in a music contest.

CCC-Hastings Honored with Nebraska State Arboretum Award

HASTINGS, Neb. – Central Community College-Hastings was presented with the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum’s (NSA) Affiliate Excellence Award at a ceremony on November 4. Aaron Thiessen, head groundskeeper for CCC, accepted the award at First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln.

COLUMBUS, Neb. —Albion Crew Leader Dave Meyer of has retired from Loup after 46 years of service Meyer joined Loup in 1976 as an Apprentice Line Technician at Albion. He was promoted to Line Technician in 1977 and to Journey Line Technician in 1980.
