TeamMates planning Chili Cook-Off

FULLERTON — Do you think you have the best chili in Fullerton? Put your recipe to the test.Fullerton TeamMates have announced they are holding the inaugural Chili Cook-Off on Friday, Dec. 5. The fundraiser will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Club.

BLACKJACK ON BOURBON STREET

FULLERTON — Sherlock Holmes is heading for Bourbon Street.Fullerton’s One-Act production, Blackjack on Bourbon Street, brings a beloved literary character to the stage in a brand-new production. The play was written by Fullerton director Brian Pomplun, with help from his students.

Library director leaving for Aurora

FULLERTON — Fullerton will soon have a new person at the helm of the Fullerton Public Library.Library Director Laurel Marlatt announced that her last day in Fullerton is Wednesday, Nov. 19. Former director Lacey Bittner is returning later this month. The library board approved her hiring on Monday.

School board discusses superintendent search

FULLERTON — The search for Fullerton’s next superintendent is still on the forefront of the Board of Education’s mind.The board met on Monday and discussed the ongoing search with the district’s hiring consultant, Rex Pfeil of Nebraska Association of School Boards.

This is a story about my older sister, Annette, and her life’s journey as a nun and wife. It’s also about her husband Ron, and his first love, Carolyn.Annette was 4 years older than me. When we were growing up we belonged to a rural Catholic church called Krakow, south of Genoa, Nebraska.

Flower shop will collect food for charity

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Florists across central United States will gather over 20 tons of food for those in need November 1015, 2025. Dubbed “Caring Rose Week,” the stores are deeply discounting bouquets of one dozen roses, and accepting canned goods as partial payment.
