Teach children and teens important skills at Kids Safety Day

COLUMBUS — Columbus Community Hospital and Mike’s Auto Sales and Towing invite you to learn safety tips from local experts at this year’s Kids Safety Day. The event will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Mike’s Auto Sales and Towing, 1858 33rd Ave. in Columbus.

Two Arrested After Pursuit in Omaha

OMAHA  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from the Omaha Police Department, have arrested two people after a pursuit in Omaha early Wednesday.At approximately 12:45 a.m. today, a trooper saw a Volkswagen Passat speeding on Highway 75 just north of downtown Omaha.

Fullerton OKs contract for police services

FULLERTON — The Fullerton City Council approved an agreement that will provide police services by the Nance County Sheriff’s Department within the city limits.Under the agreement, the city will pay the county $250,000. Previous contracts between the city and county were for three years.

Cornhusker Public Power District customers give $3,325 to help their communities

FULLERTON — Beginning next year, there will only be one Nance County Fair.The Nance County Ag Society voted on Thursday to no longer split the Nance County Fair and the Nance County Festival.

City receives pair of grants

The City of Fullerton would like to thank the Morris Donor Advised Fund of Nebraska Community Foundation for the $7,000 Grant and the Margaret Russell Trust Donor Advised Fund of Nebraska Community Foundation for the $5,000 Grant to help us build a Batting Cage for the Softball Field.

Ron Cruise Memorial scholarship winner announced

The family of Ron Cruise is pleased to announce the winner of the 2025 Ron Cruise Memorial Scholarship. The family awarded the annual scholarship to Owen Kimble. Owen is an undergraduate student at Nebraska Wesleyan University majoring in History.
