WAYNE — To help new students and their parents with financial clarity when choosing a college, Wayne State College is implementing “point-of-admission” scholarships, which will award a qualification-based scholarship to new first-year students when they are accepted to Wayne State.

Corn Board to meet

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Corn Board will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at the Bayer Water Utilization Center (76268 Hwy 47) in Gothenburg.The meeting is open to the public, providing the opportunity for public comment. The board will conduct regular board business.

Fullerton voters: ‘YES’ to sales tax

FULLERTON — The voters have spoken.Fullerton residents overwhelmingly supported continuing the Economic Development Program and the 0.5 percent sale tax to be used for infrastructure projects and economic development.Nance County Clerk Adrian Chlopek said that 283 ballots were received.

STATE FAIR TIME

The Nebraska State Fair will proudly kick off the America 250 Celebration by hosting the U.S. Army’s premier acoustic group, the Six-String Soldiers, on Veterans Day.The Six-String Soldiers formed in 2015 after their rendition of “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles went viral on Facebook.
