The Nebraska Library Commission has partnered with the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired to provide all Nebraska Public Libraries with an Onyx magnifier. The Fullerton Public Library now has one on hand for patrons to use.
These electronic magnifiers allow the user to read any text in larger print on a computer monitor, and are very user friendly.
The design integrates a highdefinition camera and monitor. You simply place your document under the fixed camera and you are able to clearly see what you want without straining your eyes.
“You can bring in documents or pill bottles or anything with small print that you can’t read. There’s all kinds of selections, and it’s easy to use and there is an instruction card,” librarian Leta Liesch said. “It’s easy to use with the remote so you can make the screen brighter and the print larger.”
