NCJ welcomes Bridger for summer

FULLERTON — The Nance County Journal is pleased to welcome Amarha Bridger to the staff as a summer reporter.

Bridger is currently a student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She graduated from Fullerton High School in 2021.

“I decided to apply for the Journal for the summer because I wanted to grow as a writer,” Bridger said.

She said that she plans to write for the UNK student newspaper, the Antelope, in the fall and liked the idea of getting experience writing at a newspaper.

“Amarha has hit the ground running this summer,” co-owner Rick Holtz said. “She has already written a couple of stories and covered a couple of events around Fullerton. Amarha is getting real-world newspaper experience this summer and the time she spends with us this summer should help her in her career.”

So far this summer, Bridger has written articles on the Fullerton Fireman’s Street Dance and attended a summer program at the Fullerton Public Library.

“Amarha knows the community, having lived here most of her life,” Holtz said. “She brings an excitement for journalism and is really wanting to learn. I look forward to seeing her grow as a writer and as a journalist this summer.

Bridger is the daughter of Jessica and Jarod Bridger of Fullerton. She has one brother, Seth, and two dogs, Titus and Sixx.

At UNK, Bridger is majoring in advertising and public relations Amarha Bridger has joined the NCJ staff as a summer reporter. NCJ photo
