County needs 2 election workers

Nance County needs two more election workers for the May primary.

Nance County Clerk Adrian Chlopek said they are still looking for two workers for the Genoa polling location. She said that they can be either Republican or Democrat and do not have to live in Genoa to work the polls.

“We need two people to help us run a smooth and secure election,” she said. “Without them, this doesn’t work.”

Poll workers will work on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. There will also be a day of training in May. Workers will be paid for their time both days.

Chlopek said she really wants to have all her poll workers lined up by March. Though she would prefer they work both primary and general elections, right now she is just trying to fill the openings for May.

“I don’t want to be searching for people late,” she said.

Anyone interested in working the polls, or if they have further questions, contact the county at (308) 536-2331.
