CENTRAL CITY — Storyteller Pippa White will finish Merrick Arts Council’s season with her presentation of Voices from Ellis Island on Sunday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m.
From 1892 to 1930, Ellis Island was the first experience of life in America for millions of immigrants. Their stories are amusing, frightening, inspiring, and true. With a change of a hat, shawl, or jacket, Pippa portrays immigrants as they share stories of their hopes and dreams, as well as their experiences on the ship and once landing at Ellis Island. It is estimated that 40% of the current United States population have ancestors who passed through Ellis Island.
White calls her One’s Company Productions “part theatre, part storytelling, part history.” Audiences Storyteller Pippa White is coming to Central City.
