LINCOLN — The Boone-Nance County Intermediate 4-H Horse Bowl team of Tinsley Neidhardt, Josie Rother, Lora Sonderup, Luke Sonderup, and Dorothy Smith outlasted all their competitors to capture the Champion Intermediate 4-H Horse Bowl title during Nebraska State 4-H Horse Stampede, says Steve Pritchard, extension educator.
The State 4-H Horse Bowl competition was held on the UNL East Campus. The Boone-Nance County intermediate members competed in a field of 9 teams.
Competing in the Senior Division, finishing 3rd, and receiving a purple ribbon was the team ofAidan Choat, Hunter Olnes, Abby Addison, Kate Maricle, and Maddie Kuta.
The youth were tested on their knowledge of nutrition, feeds, anatomy, physiology, endocrinology, parasites, genetics, breeds, breed associations, judging, show rules, tack and equipment.
