Mildred Louise Lewis

Mildred Louise Lewis, 91, of Stanton and formerly of Fullerton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Stanton Health Care in Stanton.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with Pastor Joy Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mildred was born Sept. 23, 1932, to Bernard and Mary (Swartz) Collins at home on her mother’s birthday in Fullerton. She graduated from Fullerton High School in 1949. On Sept. 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to William C. Lewis in Fullerton. To this union, three children were born: Victoria, William ‘Randy’, and Jeffrey. For many years, Mildred worked for Dayle Rumsey at State Farm until he retired, and she began working for Gary Hall until she retired.

Mildred had a love for painting ceramics and China dishes. She also loved to make porcelain dolls, even handmaking clothes for them. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens outside and canning in the summer. She was always teaching her grandchildren how to bake and playing cards and board games with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Victoria Lewis of North Platte, Randy Lewis of Fullerton, and Jeffrey (Renee) Lewis of Bellwood; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Collins in Elyria; and sister-in-law, LaDonna Collins of Fullerton.

She is preceded by her husband, William; her parents; infant brother; sisters, Dorothy McClure and Helen Collins; brothers, Milford and Donald; brother-in-law, Victor McClure; sister-in-law, Georgie Collins; granddaughter, Christine E. Hill; and great-granddaughter, Skylar Caudillo.
