Can a candidate do or say anything to make you flip your vote?
We are less than two weeks away from the Nov. 5 General Election and things are getting pretty interesting.
Last week Vice President Kamala Harris was at a rally in Wisconsin when she was talking about abortion. No shock there. She supports it.
Someone in the crowd was heard shouting “Jesus is Lord.” What Harris said next was shocking to me.
“Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally,” she said. “No, I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.”
The crowd cheered for the Democratic nominee as the person or people who shouted were allegedly shown the door.
Now, was the person who shouted at the rally a Harris supporter? Did some dastardly Trump supporter infiltrate the campaign event?
Does it really matter?
About two-thirds of Americans call themselves Christians. Telling 66 percent of the country that they are not welcome in your group is an interesting campaign choice.
Apparently someone on her campaign staff recognized the mistake. Her handlers had her at a New Birth Missionary Baptist Church outside Atlanta on Sunday. Her running-mate, Tim Walz, was at Victorious Believers Ministries in Saginaw, Mich.
Honest question to think about. Can a Christian vote for a Democrat? Sure they can.
Maybe there are other issues you feel Democrats do better with. At what point do the policies of candidate get you to step back and question your support?
At the end of the day, every person who votes will have to choose a side. I just wonder if Harris’s God gaffe will have anyone questioning which side they are on.

We are entering the final weeks of the fall sports seasons.
Keila Dubas had a strong performance at State golf. Morgan Supik, Makayla Robinson and Tate Wood will be running at State cross country. Fullerton’s football team has a playoff game on Thursday. Shoot, Twin River’s football team finished their first winning season in school history and would have had a playoff game on Thursday if they were eligible. Volleyball opens subdistrict play next week.
It’s an exciting time to follow Fullerton and Twin River sports.

There are plenty of ballot initiatives for voters to sift through when they go to the polls. Do you ever feel overwhelmed and not quite sure what a “Yes” vote means and a “No” vote means for each initiative?
We’ve got you covered. If you turn over to the public notice section there are two pages explaining what your vote means what outcome will come depending on the result of each initiative.

Circling back to Harris and what I consider her God gaffe, if Jesus is not Lord, then who is?
Everyone has a lord in their life. Even people who say there is no God are declaring lordship. Are you your own lord? Is abortion your lord? Is your money or popularity your lord? You may not think you made a decision, but you are choosing a side.
