Your vote matters and there are plenty of races and ballot initiatives up for grabs on the election ballot.
A sample ballot appears on page 9 of today’s newspaper. Not all races will appear on all ballots.
Below are a list of contested races on the General Election ballot.
Presidential Ticket
Voters can choose from Donald J. Trump (Republican), Kamala D. Harris (Democratic), Chase Oliver (Libertarian), Cornel West (Legal Marijuana NOW) and Jill Stein (By Petition).
United States Senatorial Ticket Voters will select two senators in separate races. Deb Fischer (Republican) takes on Dan Osborn (By Petition) in one race and Pete Ricketts (Republican) takes on Preston Love Jr. (Democratic) in the other race.
Congressional Ticket
Voters will choose between Adrian Smith (Republican) and Daniel Ebers (Democratic).
Nonpartisan Ticket
Voters will decide whether to retain judges in office. Julie A. Martin, James C. Stecker, Rachel Daughterty and Lynelle D. Homolka all appear on the ballot.
Voters will choose between John A. Novotny and Michelle Broekemier for Central Community College for Board of Governors (At Large).
Voters will choose between Douglas Reeves and Andrew Simmons for Central Platte Natural Resources District for Board of Directors (Subdistrict #9).
Voters will choose between Matt Lukasiewicz and Dwain A. Seier for Lower Loup Natural Resources District for Board of Directors (Subdistrict #5).
School Ticket
Six candidates are vying for three seats on the Fullerton School Board. David Ciancio, Brian L. Aaberg, Brad Anderson, David Reilly, Dillon M. Busch and Brittany Bertram are all on the ballot.
Six candidates are vying for three seats on the Twin River School Board. Jennifer Swantek, John Reeg, Alex Cornwell, Dan Preister, Jaysen L. Melcher and Connie Brandenburger-Worden are all on the ballot.
Four candidates are vying for three seats on the Central Valley School Board. Jeremy Straka, Jillyn Klein, D.W. Holley and Ted Nekoliczak are all on the ballot.
Nance County residents living in the Palmer school district will decide on a $12,995,000 school bond for school renovations.
City Ticket
Three candidates are vying for two seats on the Genoa City Council. Al Benson, Jennifer R. Quintanilla and Brett Pearson all appear on the ballot.
Village Ticket
Three candidates are vying for two seats on the Belgrade Village Board. Seth Nelson, Mike Choyeski and Daniel D. Cornwell are all on the ballot.
Belgrade residents will decide if they want to allow a Belgrade Village Lottery.
