Elizabeth “Lib” Ann (Peck) Schultz, 92, of Columbus and formerly of Clarks, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024 at Brookstone Acres in Columbus. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Trent Wagner officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 from 4:307 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel.

Lib was born on Nov. 4, 1932 in Clarks to Orval and Mary (Bloxom) Peck. She grew up in the Clarks area and attended District 57 and District 33 schools. She then graduated from Fullerton High School. She also attended Nebraska Central College in Central City and received her teaching degree. She taught school at District 51 for two years.

She married H. Dwain Schultz in Dec. 27,1950 in Fullerton. She and her husband Dwain farmed West of Clarks until 1964 and moved to Clarks and owned the Clarks Café for two years. Lib worked at the Clarks Coop Elevator as a bookkeeper for several years. She also worked at the ASCS office in Central City for seven years. She worked at the Merrick County Courthouse in the Clerks office for four years. Dwain and Lib then moved to Estes Park, Colo., in 1988 where she was a bookkeeper for the Best Western Motel and Hallmark for six years. The couple then moved back to Clarks in 2000 to retire.

Lib was a member of the Clarks United Methodist Church since 1950. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She also loved all animals except snakes. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved them very much.

She is survived by three sons, Doug (Kay) Schultz of Clarks, David (Diane) Schultz of Clarks and Dana (Lori) Schultz of Schuyler; brother, Alan (Karen) Peck of Central City; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lib is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwain; in laws, Henry and Agnes Schultz; sister, Carol Rieken; brother-in-law, Lyle Rieken; sister-in-law, Shirley Marcia Neal Lamb; and brotherin-law, John Lamb.
