Arlene Rae Hoffman

Arlene Rae Hoffman, 76, of Fullerton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at Valley View Assisted Living in Fullerton.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at Victory Baptist Church in Fullerton, officiated by Pastor Phil Tilson. Interment will take place at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Arlene was born on Jan. 31, 1948, to Clifford and Ruth (Fowler) Bernhardt in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Benson High School in 1966 and went on to attend Francos Beauty School in Omaha, where she trained as a hairstylist. She worked in that profession for a year before pursuing further education to become a physical therapist assistant. Arlene worked at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha for a few years.

On Feb. 16, 1974, she married Michael Hoffman, and the couple began their life together in Lancaster, California. Over the years, they lived in various places, including Roseburg, OR; Big Spring, Texas; Roswell, Minn.; and finally settled in Fullerton in 2007. Michael preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2017.

During their years in California, Arlene and Michael enjoyed visiting theme parks like Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland, exploring wax museums, camping, and fishing. Arlene also enjoyed playing the piano, reading, and adult coloring books. She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church in Fullerton.

Arlene is survived by her brother-in-law, Mike McAllister of Weatherford, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; her parents, Clifford and Ruth; and her siblings, Shirley Coombe, Kenny Bernhardt, and Darlene McAllister.
